WASHTED participates in 1st National Sanitation and Hygiene Learning Forum

WASHTED played a leading role in the 1st National Sanitation and Hygiene Learning Forum organized by the National Sanitation and Hygiene Coordinating Unit in Lilongwe on May 3rd and 4th. Over 160 delegates from academia, NGOs, government, donors and civil society, gathered to discuss the challenges and barriers to sanitation coverage in Malawi. In an interesting two days, Dr Steven Taulo gave the keynote address, summarizing Malawi’s progress towards Open Defaecation Free status, while Mr Save Kumwenda (SHARE Research Fellow) shared appropriate technologies for flood prone areas and his recent research on Ecological Sanitation. WASHTED held an exhibition stand to share both published and on going research with delegates.
